Roscosmos conducts active and continuous space monitoring of Russian territories prone to floods and floods. The press service of the state corporation spoke about this and published satellite images showing the situation in the Tyumen, Orenburg and Kurgan regions.
The main efforts are focused on monitoring floods and inundations in the Orenburg, Saratov, Samara, Kurgan, Tyumen, Tomsk, Kemerovo and Omsk regions, Krasnoyarsk, Altai, Transbaikal, Perm and Primorsky Territories, as well as the Republic of Sakha ( Yakutia) and Buryatia.
In the period from April 13 to the present, more than 60 survey routes were obtained for flood conditions, with a total area of more than 400 thousand km2. As Roscosmos emphasized, all information received is promptly, almost in real time, communicated to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia and to the executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
For space monitoring, all spacecraft of the Russian state space remote sensing system (Earth Remote Sensing) are used, which includes five Kanopus-B and three Meteora-M satellites ;raquo;, one radar surveillance spacecraft «Kondor-FKA», as well as one satellite «Resurs-P».
