Roscosmos continues to develop the Skif broadband Internet access system

Four more communications satellites will be manufactured

Company «Information Satellite Systems» named after academician M.F. Reshetnyova entered into government contracts with Roscosmos for the manufacture, launch  and flight testing of four more spacecraft «Skif». At the first stage, the «Skif» will include six communications satellites, work on the creation of the first two devices is already underway.

System «Skif» is designed to provide broadband Internet access in Russia and nearby regions, as provided for by the federal project «Sfera». In total, the full-scale orbital constellation «Skif» 12 satellites must enter. They will operate in a medium circular orbit with an altitude of 8,070 km and an inclination of 90 degrees to the equator.
