Radeon RX 7900 XTX video cards turned out to be problematic. TinyCorp was unable to solve problems with the six-card system and is looking towards competitors

TinyBox is AI oriented

It seems that Radeon RX 7900 XTX video cards are still not very suitable for AI tasks, despite the excellent price, performance and memory ratio. At the very least, TinyCorp, which recently introduced a system based on six RX 7900 XTX, announced that it was suspending the release of TinyBox systems.

Some time ago the company announced that it had encountered problems at the AMD software level. The head of the company, Lisa Su, personally got involved in the issue, but the problem was never resolved.

The driver is still very unstable and if it crashes or freezes we have no way to debug it. We do not have the option to reset the GPU state. Apparently, these problems are caused not only by the MES, but also by the command processor.

As a result, TinyCorp says it is considering Intel and Nvidia graphics cards as alternatives. Of course, competing cards won’t be able to offer the same price/performance/memory ratio as the RX 7900 XTX, but it’s impossible to sell a non-working option anyway.

At the same time, the company notes that it is not going to completely abandon its original concept and will return to AMD video cards as soon as it copes with the problems.
