A source at the plant said that Chery is not profitable with the contract to assemble Chery Tiggo 7 Pro in Russia
Following the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro crossover, the Tiggo 8 crossover should begin to be produced in Russia, but, according to Russian Automobile, the start of production of the new model is postponed to at least September. All because «Avtozavod St. Petersburg» will go into long downtime from July to September. Until July they will have time to assemble only the installation batch of Tiggo 8.

Therefore, they will dump on authentic Tiggo 7, if only the XCITE [XCITE] ne brand takes away a significant market share from them. Whatever prices VAZ sets for the XCITE X-Cross 7, the margins of the Chinese-assembled Chery Tiggo 7 will sooner be higher. VAZ has driven itself into a price trap and long-term prospects of making it a good business — not visible», — wrote Sergey Tsyganov, auto expert and host of the Telegram channel «Russian car».
As for XCITE X-Cross 7, the cars are already at dealers, official sales will start on May 27.
