In the upper segment there will be new Arrow Lake-S
It looks like Intel may be able to use the LGA1700 platform a little longer before it retires. According to recent data, another new line of processors will be released for this platform.
The line is called Bartlett Lake. This will not be some completely new generation with new architectures. Instead, it will be a continuation of Raptor Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh. It is even possible that it will simply be the same CPUs again.
But still, Bartlett Lake will not be another simple attempt by Intel to sell old processors under new names, since, let us remind you, desktop Arrow Lake in LGA1851 version should be released at the end of this year. Bartlett Lake is needed to fill the budget niche. That is, Intel is going to adopt AMD’s approach, when new CPUs are released for all segments except the lower one, and in the lower segments the old processors that have become cheaper remain.
That is, in the case of Intel, Arrow Lake-S processors will apparently be released only in the upper and middle price segments, and in the lower price segments, LGA1700 CPUs will continue to exist in the form of the Bartlett Lake line, which in general will be close to either Identical to Raptor Lake. However, Intel may well implement some changes at the architecture level.
