The head of Rostec, Sergei Chemezov, said that in the coming years the state corporation will supply Aeroflot with 11 Tu-214 aircraft. Firm contracts have already been concluded for the supply of aircraft, however, they still need to be finalized according to the wishes of the airline.
We are currently working on delivery dates. In the future they want more, of course. At the same time, they still have a common desire to improve these aircraft — Ours are designed for three crew members, but they are asking to be converted to two crew members. We are currently working in this direction.

The owner of these 11 Tu-214s will be «Aviacapital-Service» — leasing «daughter» Rostec. The company will buy the aircraft from the United Aircraft Corporation, «Aeroflot» will receive them on lease and will pay off their cost from operating income. One plane will cost the airline 16 billion rubles.
Now the Kazan Aviation Plant can supply airlines with the Tu-214, the cabin of which is designed for two pilots and a flight engineer. But large international manufacturers — Boeing, Airbus, Embraer — the flight engineer has been abandoned for many years now and aircraft cockpits have been redesigned. This made it possible to reduce crew costs and increase the economic efficiency of aircraft operation.
