OpenAI also wants to become a for-profit company

We just learned that OpenAI may become a for-profit organization, and this may have consequences for more than just shareholders. Former CIA contractor Edward Snowden says OpenAI can no longer be trusted.

They've completely taken off the mask: no longer trust OpenAI or its products (ChatGPT, etc.). There's only one reason for appointing the director of NSAGov to your board. It's a deliberate, calculated betrayal of the rights of every human being on Earth. You've been warned.

It's worth mentioning that a couple of days ago, the news went relatively unnoticed that OpenAI had appointed Paul M. Nakasone, a retired US Army general and former head of the NSA, to its board of directors. He led the agency from 2018 to 2023, which is very recently. OpenAI itself claims that Nakasone will help improve the role of AI in cybersecurity by quickly detecting and responding to threats, and his appointment was a response to user concerns about OpenAI's security culture.
