Microsoft secretly installs 'useless' Copilot app on Windows PC

Microsoft has begun automatically installing the Copilot application on computers with the Windows 11 operating system. The process occurs unnoticed by users, even on those systems where the automatic update installation function is disabled. 

The company has not yet officially presented the Copilot application for Windows. According to enthusiasts who discovered the innovation, the installed Copilot application does not seem to have any functionality, and further investigation showed that it contains 0 bytes of data.  Apparently, this is just a client shell.

Fortunately, users can uninstall the application simply by using the built-in «Uninstall» in Windows. You can check whether you already have the Copilot application on your PC by going to Settings, clicking Applications, and then selecting Installed Applications. ;. The application is listed as Microsoft Copilot.

At the same time, Microsoft launched a special Copilot application for Android back in December last year, which offers features similar to the ChatGPT chatbot.
