MG Cyberster Red Top Edition unveiled, priced at $51,500 in China. This electric convertible sports car is finished in an exclusive Pearl White color combination with a red convertible roof. The launch batch includes only 100 units, deliveries will begin in March 2024.
Morris Garages, MG, the British brand that brought us classic roadsters, is today owned by SAIC Motor Corporation. Known for its roadsters and sports cars, MG entered the era of electric vehicles with the MG Cyberster.
The Cyberster chassis is being tuned by the Italian team DANISI from the former F1 Ferrari team. The powertrain of the MG Cyberster Red Top Edition has not been revealed, but it can be recalled that the standard twin-motor version, the Cyberster, which is currently on the market, is equipped with a front permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 150 kW and a rear motor with a maximum power of 250 kW. A total power of 400 kW allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. The car is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 77 kW•h with a power reserve of 520 km.
MG claims that the side profile of the Cyberster showcases classic MG design. The cabin features Nappa leather seats, a carbon fiber center stack and a three-screen layout. There are gear shift paddles on the steering wheel.
Global MG sales exceeded 840,000 vehicles in 2023.
