Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said demand for the Vision Pro is higher than Apple initially expected. US shipments this year are expected to total 200,000–250,000 units, above Apple's initial estimate of 150,000–200,000 units.
Kuo noted that shipping times peaked at over a month, with some pre-orders placed on January 19 receiving a delivery date in early March. This period has since been reduced to a few days, suggesting that production has been ramped up. Delivery time for Vision Pro has now been reduced to 3–5 days (early March).
The Chinese pay $200 a day to use Apple Vision Pro. And the queue of applicants is not decreasing
Apple has asked suppliers to increase production, which Kuo says is due to relatively strong demand in the US and plans to begin sales in other countries in the coming months.
Contrary to reports that many Vision Pro buyers return the headset within 14 days, Ming-Chi Kuo estimates that the current return rate has dropped to just 1%. Kuo says he was able to visit a production line dedicated to repairing and remanufacturing Vision Pro returns. According to him, today buyers have a good idea of what kind of product they are buying and why.
Kuo says his supply chain investigations have confirmed that Apple has not yet begun work on a lower-cost model.
