New routers from B4Com are not inferior to their foreign counterparts
«MegaFon» completed testing and, as a pilot project, implemented IP transport equipment from the Russian company B4Com on its network. This was reported by the operator's press service.
As the operator noted, in terms of their characteristics, routers from B4Com are not inferior to their foreign counterparts and are capable of transmitting traffic at a speed of 100 Gbit/s.
The company said:
New routers are capable of increasing the capacity of the transport network to 100 Gbit/s, which will solve the problem of import substitution and cope with the growing volume of transmitted Internet traffic.
The equipment will increase network capacity, as well as organize one or more backup traffic routes to the base station, which will ensure uninterrupted provision of communication services.
Before implementation on the network, the equipment was tested at the Federal Research and Development Center of MegaFon. During laboratory tests, domestic routers were tested for performance, support for data transfer protocols, and compliance with the synchronization class. All tests performed showed positive results.
The next stage was the deployment of pilot zones on the commercial network. B4Com routers were installed at several dozen base stations in Moscow, Tatarstan and the Sverdlovsk region. Currently, user traffic successfully passes through them. In the future, new equipment will be introduced in other regions of Russia.
