New details have appeared

The presentation of the Kaiyi X7 Kunlun crossover in Russia took place last week, as we already reported. The Autonews publication clarified interesting details about the features of adapting the car for Russia.  This is a car in the class of Kia Sorento and Skoda Kadiaq.

Like most modern Chinese cars, the Kaiyi X7 Kunlun was not initially equipped with winter options, although the car was tested in the Kunlun Mountains, where the air temperature drops to -40 °C.

Especially for Russia, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a wiper area on the windshield, as well as air ducts for the feet of rear passengers were added to the car. Greater comfort for rear row passengers was discussed before, but now it is clear that we are talking not only about the deflectors in the rear of the armrest, but also about heating the legs.

The latter turned out to be unusual. Even in the case of the budget Kaiyi E5 sedan, it turned out that the first batches of cars did not have them, which taxi passengers began to complain about. Now they are. In the X7, such air ducts are provided in the factory version, but only for seven-seat versions, which it was decided not to supply to Russia. And especially for the Russian market, air ducts were added to the five-seat version.

As for the all-wheel drive version, which is being created primarily for the Russian market, it will appear in 2024. Moreover, it became known that Kaiyi refused to borrow the all-wheel drive design from the Chery Tiggo 8 with a BorgWarner clutch. It is likely that this will be a Magna brand coupling, which supplies such devices to BMW and Jaguar.
