Li Auto released a statement addressing allegations that cameras in its vehicles were remotely used to record and distribute pornographic images.

Li Auto recently received messages from users who said they saw someone distributing so-called pornographic images taken by Li Auto's car camera on a WeChat group. Criminals use special equipment to capture pornographic images and use means of copying images to distribute and expose them through WeChat groups. These are dirty methods, illegal and criminal acts. Regarding criminals creating and spreading online rumors through fake means, Li Auto has collected relevant evidence and reported it to public security authorities as soon as possible.

Li Auto said that among the more than 700,000 Li Auto vehicles it has delivered, none of the vehicles have built-in sensors that allow remote viewing and storage of images, audio and video: «We put privacy on first place. Even the recording device only allows the car owner to store it locally and does not record audio. Li Auto respects and protects the privacy and security of users, and all data processing activities comply with relevant national laws and regulations».
