Intel Lunar Lake processors will indeed be released earlier than previously thought. Intel has confirmed a launch in the third quarter of this year.
Lunar Lake-MX processors are aimed at mobile PCs, and not the most powerful ones. These are processors that were designed from the very beginning with an eye to maximum energy efficiency, so there are only four large and four small cores inside. But Lunar Lake will receive a very productive iGPU on the new Battlemage architecture and a powerful NPU unit with a performance of 45 TOPS. The total processor performance in AI tasks is estimated at 100 TOPS, which is higher than the latest Snapdragon X.
By the way, in promotional materials that have leaked online, Intel compares Lunar Lake specifically with the new Qualcomm platform, which is quite unusual. Of course, Intel promises a significant advantage with its CPUs.
The company also said that Arrow Lake processors, which will be available in both the mobile and desktop segments, will be released at the end of the year. Previously it was believed that these particular CPUs would be released earlier, and Lunar Lake later. Intel may have changed plans to respond to Snapdragon X.
