It's like Nvidia, AMD and Intel combined DLSS, FSR and XeSS. Microsoft explained what DirectSR is, which will be integrated into Windows 11

This is API

Microsoft explained what DirectSR is, which we learned about just the other day.

It turned out that this is not some new upscale technology from Microsoft itself, but something even more interesting.

Microsoft DirectSR is an API that will allow you to use upscale technologies from different companies through a common set of inputs and outputs, allowing you to enable different solutions of this class using a single code path. This includes Nvidia DLSS, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS.

And these same companies helped Microsoft develop DirectSR. That is, in a sense, DirectSR — it is a hub of all variants of supersampling technologies.

DirectSR will soon be available in the Agility SDK as a public preview, allowing developers to test it. In addition, Nvidia and AMD will also talk about this development at the GDC 2024 event in March.
