For now, iOS 18 is in beta testing
iPhone 15 smartphone users will receive notifications after installing iOS 18, in which the operating system will recommend setting a certain charging limit for their device based on usage scenario in order to increase battery life.
All four iPhone 15 models get a setting that prevents devices from charging above 80%, and iOS 18 will also let you choose 85%, 90%, or 95%, as we reported earlier this week. iOS 18 will take a proactive approach to improving battery life by advising users of a certain charging limit via notification.
The recommendation is also displayed in the «Settings» application. in the «Battery» section > «Charging». The Charge Limit feature remains exclusive to the iPhone 15 lineup in the first beta of iOS 18, while the iPhone 14 Pro and other smartphones do not have this option.
The first beta of iOS 18 is available to Apple Developer Program members, with a public beta coming in July. Once beta testing is complete, the update should be released to all users in September.
