Hideki Kamiya hopes that PlatinumGames will continue the Bayonetta series without him

Hideki-san is one of the founders of the PlatinumGames studio and at one time led the development of the original Bayonetta

Hideki Kamiya, who left PlatinumGames last month, posted a new video on his YouTube channel in which he answered various questions from fans and spoke about the future of the Bayonetta series without him.

“As I explained earlier, I worked on Bayonetta 1, 2, 3 and Origins. I've said in various interviews that the Bayonetta series will be nine parts and that I wanted to develop it as the Bayonetta Saga, but it looks like I'll have to take that idea to my grave.

This is unfortunate. I don't own the rights to Bayonetta, but those who do will likely continue to work on the series.”

Hideki-san was one of the founders of PlatinumGames and the vice president of the studio, responsible for the creative direction of the Bayonetta and Astral Chain series. However, his career in the gaming industry began at Capcom, where he worked on Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry, Okami and Viewtiful Joe.
