Gigabyte introduced new computer components for workstations that will be used in working with neural networks. The line was called AI Top, it includes two models of motherboards, three models of video cards, one SSD and one power supply. The presentation took place in «zero» day of the Computex 2024 exhibition.
The Gigabyte TRX50 AI Top motherboard (it was shown in action) has an sTRS socket and supports AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7000 and Threadripper Pro 7000 processors. The board is equipped with four PCIe 5.0 slots for video cards, four M.2 connectors for drives , two 10-Gigabit network ports and eight slots for RDIMM memory modules with a total capacity of up to 2 TB.
The Gigabyte W790 AI Top motherboard (not shown live) features two Thunderbolt 4 ports and six M.2 connectors (only two of them use the PCIe 5.0 bus).
In addition, the company presented video cards based on the GeForce RTX 4070 with 16 GB of memory and the W7900/W7800 with 48 and 32 GB of memory, respectively (all models were demonstrated in operation). Gigabyte notes that while Nvidia cards have become the industry standard in AI, a system with AMD GPU-based cards can have up to 192 GB of memory and will allow for larger models.
Gigabyte AI Top 100E solid state drives (not shown live) will have a capacity of 1 or 2 TB and read and write speeds of up to 7200 and 6200 MB/s, respectively.
PSU Gigabyte UD1600PM PG5 AI Top (not shown live) allows you to power up to four video cards and, as stated, passes three times more stringent tests.
