AAEON Technology introduced a very powerful single board computer. True, it’s difficult to call it cheap: in the basic version with a 14-core Core Ultra 5 125H and 16 GB of LPDDR5-6400 RAM, the device costs $750, in the top version with a 16-core Core Ultra 7 155H and 32 GB of RAM — $960.
The creators abandoned slots for SO-DIMM RAM — the entire amount of RAM is soldered on the system board. Power is supplied directly (UP Xtreme i14 is compatible with units with voltages from 9 to 36 V), there is a 40-pin GPIO header, a pair of M.2 2280 ports, one M.2 3052 for the 5G modem (a $240 option) and one M .2 2230 for wireless adapter.
AAEON UP Xtreme i14 received two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, two HDMI 2.1, one DisplayPort 2.1. There are two RJ-45 ports: one provides a speed of 2.5 Gbps, the other — 1 Gbit/s (Intel I226-IT and Intel I219 controllers, respectively).
