First turbocharged engine in Corvette history. Chevrolet demonstrated what it sounds like

Announcement will take place in the summer

Chevrolet has released a teaser image of the 2025 C8 Corvette ZR1, showing off the roar of its engine. Experts from the motor1 website believe that this is what a turbocharged V8 engine sounds like.

In the video you can see a small rocket. This is the same rocket that GM is stamping on various parts of the Z06's LT6 V-8 engine. Chevy engineers called this engine the Gemini because it is essentially two twin four-cylinder engines sharing a crankshaft.

There have been rumors that the ZR1 will get the first turbocharged engine in Corvette history, and this video indirectly proves the assumption. In the Z06, the naturally aspirated LT6 engine displaces 5.5 liters and produces 670 hp. With two superchargers — and motor1 suggests there will be two, since a single turbo doesn't make much sense in a high-performance eight-cylinder engine — the motor can show impressive power.
