Tentative name

Information has again appeared on the Internet that Samsung is going to release a cheaper folding smartphone.

The new product is supposedly being prepared for release this year. Probably within the Galaxy Z Flip6 line, that is, the new product may be called Flip6 FE.

It is reported that, relative to the main Flip model, the new product will be equipped with a weaker platform, a simpler screen and a smaller battery. But the set of cameras will remain the same as the Flip5, that is, the quality will be quite decent. As a result, Flip6 FE, if it is called that way, will cost $800 versus $1000 for the regular version.

Recall that Samsung’s share in the folding smartphone market is actively declining, and forecasts say that by the end of the current quarter, Huawei may overtake the Korean giant. A more affordable smartphone could well boost Samsung's sales and allow it to maintain its lead.
