Helldivers 2 was loved by many and received a lot of positive reviews. Sony PlayStation canceled everything out with one decision

The Helldivers 2 community has recently started to really explode. The fact is that on May 3, 2024, Arrowhead Game Studios announced new rules.

Now linking the Steam account of PC players in Helldivers 2 to the PlayStation Network is mandatory: changes will take effect in a few days. Previously, the binding was optional, which was explained by some “technical problems”.

Judging by the statement of the Helldivers 2 community manager in Discord (https://discord.com/invite/helldivers ) is a decision made by Sony PlayStation, not the developers themselves:

«Firstly, this is Sony's decision, not ours. Secondly, we don’t yet have all the details about the problems associated with the regions [players complain also because PSN does not work everywhere – problems are not limited to players from Russia]. We've reached out to Sony for more information»

Arrowhead Game Studios head Johan Pilestedt commented on what's happening – he's watching Helldivers 2 Steam rating drops:

“Aw, [blow] straight to the user rating.

Well, I think it's justified. I apologize to everyone that everything turned out this way. I hope we improve and regain trust by continuing to offer a great gaming experience.

I just want to make great games!”
