Electric cars of the domestic project «Atom» hit Russian roads for the first time. Four pre-production electric cars of this brand were registered with the traffic police. This information is reported by the portal «Auto Mail.ru», citing current data on car registration.
The startup behind the project belongs to JSC «Kama». It is interesting to note that these electric vehicles were registered as «Kama Atom», although initially the project «Atom» positioned as an independent brand.
Registration of electric vehicles with the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate means that they can now be driven onto Russian public roads for testing in various climatic conditions, and that the cars are one step closer to the start of sales.
Car production «Atom» will be carried out at the Moskvich plant. The first electric vehicles will appear in showrooms in the second half of 2025. It is expected that about 5,000 vehicles will be assembled in the first year.
In size, the electric car will be comparable to the Lada Granta in a hatchback body: its length is 3995 mm, width — 1780 mm, ground clearance is 170 mm. «Atom» will be equipped with a fully independent front suspension of the MacPherson type. and multi-link independent rear suspension.
