Digital Foundry: Lords of the Fallen developers have greatly improved performance, but it's still not perfect

The publisher of Lords of the Fallen recently assured that with update 1.5 the game has become “the best version of itself in history.” An analysis of the promised improvement from Digital Foundry has appeared

The editors began by demonstrating the unstable frame rate on the Xbox Series S after release, when animation could drop to 2-5 frames per second. But after installing patch 1.5, the game works much better. In the same situations and locations where the frequency dropped to almost zero, only a few frames are now lost (compared to 60 fps on Xbox Series X).

“The problem has been fixed on consoles.”

But Lords of the Fallen “still performs poorly on PS5 in GPU-intensive areas,” the editors note. The frame rate may drop from 60 fps to 45 fps. On XSX, on the contrary, periodic microstutters are annoying.
