In the latest material, Digital Foundry experts got acquainted with the “visual feast”. The main character Senua comes to life thanks to Metahuman technology, offering incredibly realistic facial rendering that rivals the best in the gaming industry. Skin with a subtle sheen, lively eyes, perfect teeth – every detail is amazing.

The animation is “incredibly good”, and the character conveys convincing emotions. The game also uses advanced post-processing, including beautiful depth of field that transitions smoothly from one focus point to another without visible artifacts.

Among other Unreal Engine 5 features that set Hellblade apart 2, – Nanite, which allows you to draw extremely detailed textures of earth and stone. Shadows are crisp and accurate even on the smallest geometric elements, making the game world seem even more realistic.
