UzAuto Motors has changed its mind about discontinuing the budget sedan Chevrolet Lacetti (aka Chevrolet Gentra). Amid the news that production of the car will cease in April 2024, demand for the sedan has soared — in May, which is not yet over, 7800 Lacetti were sold in Uzbekistan.
For comparison, in April a total of 78.5 thousand passenger cars were sold in Uzbekistan. That is, based on sales results in May, Chevrolet Lacetti has a market share of approximately 10%.
Although Lacetti production continues, there is no information about when exactly it will stop. UzAuto Motors itself will assemble cars until «until the components run out».
