It rarely happens when an automaker itself speaks honestly about defects in its cars, but KamAZ does not intend to hide the whole truth, even if it is not very pleasant. According to the corporate resource  «Vesti KamAZ», the plant analyzed complaints for 2023 and found out that the number of claims from KamAZ K5 buyers based on the results of three months of operation of the truck increased by 34.9 % based on 100 units of equipment.

The company attributes the increased number of claims to an increase in sales volumes of K5 trucks. But it is significant that the plant defectologists themselves are dissatisfied with the quality: according to their estimates, the level of defects has increased by 21.4%, and there are more non-systemic, but significant defects. And this indicates poor training of the involved workers – they have not fully mastered production processes. The company notes that the weak link remains the components, the quality of which is unstable.

Of course, KamAZ is not going to put up with this state of affairs – The company is introducing measures that should improve the quality of the cars produced. For example, in 2023, the mechanisms for accounting for major defects in production and the metrological system were improved, the company is developing technical control services.
