Better than Shazam: Google taught YouTube Music to recognize songs that the user hums or whistles

No need to remember the text

Google has released an interesting update for YouTube Music. New service lets you determine what song you're humming or whistling through an Android app.

After the update, a wave symbol appears next to the microphone icon. If you click it, YouTube Music will start «listening» sounds in the immediate environment. The user can sing the text, just «moo» or whistle a tune if the text is not remembered. YouTube Music will then check its database for a match and offer suggestions.

Лучше, чем Shazam: Google научила YouTube Music распознавать песни, которые напевает или насвистывает пользователь

In testing by The Verge, YouTube Music does a pretty good job of identifying songs. At least better than Shazam.
