Modos has introduced the Paper Monitor, which is based on the E Ink panel.

This is a small 13.3-inch display with a resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels, a frequency of 60 Hz, and there is a choice of both monochrome and color panels with electronic ink. The manufacturer also claims a low latency of 120 ms versus 270 ms for competitors.

However, those same 60 Hz, as well as the shortest response time, are available in black and white mode, when the monitor is not capable of displaying even shades of gray. But this mode is quite suitable, for example, when typing text.

Another feature of the monitor is that it is an open source device.

There is no information about the price and release date yet.
