AvtoVAZ announced when Lada Niva will receive airbags

There will be only one Airbag in the database

Speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov touched on the topic of the appearance of the «Niva» airbags. According to him, Niva Legend and Niva Travel will be equipped with only one such element.

«This year Lada Niva Legend cars will have a front airbag for the driver. And on the Niva Travel model, a passenger airbag will be offered as an option», — said the top manager.

Maxim Sokolov noted that in order to equip the Niva Legend with an airbag, a large number of tests had to be carried out. He also added that AvtoVAZ does not plan to install side airbags on its cars.
