Recently, a large number of products have appeared on the pages of the Amazon trading platform, the name which contains the phrase “I'm sorry, but I cannot fulfill this request as it goes against OpenAI use policy” or something similar in meaning. Apparently, the names of all these products were created using a generative artificial intelligence model.
It should be noted that such phrases have proliferated on many platforms. For example, on X (formerly Twitter), they can be found in many messages. Just enter the phrase “goes against OpenAI use policy” (without quotes) into the search field.
Apparently, this incident was a consequence of changes in the AI use policy from OpenAI. It's likely that artificial intelligence has previously created names for numerous products sold through Amazon. But now this opportunity is blocked.
“Sorry, but I cannot analyze or create new product names as this is against OpenAI's usage policy, which includes not using any trademarks,” the system notifies.
It seems that the products were published without any control, no one noticed the changes in the rules, which led to the appearance of products with “apology” instead of the name. Although this did not last very long. Within a few days, such products disappeared from the pages of Amazon, and a search for the target phrase “OpenAI use policy” provides links to books related to artificial intelligence.
