Google has launched Android 15 Beta 2 on Pixel and other smartphones. Google is offering a “rolling beta release” with Beta 2 – they will be suitable for daily use.
Android 15 introduces Private Space mode, which allows you to create a separate area for selected applications. This is a restriction of access for outsiders to applications – they can be limited or hidden. Apps can be accessed with a fingerprint, password or PIN authentication that is separate from the one that unlocks the phone. Alerts and program data in a private space will be isolated from the rest of the phone through settings and other programs.
Android 15 Beta 2 adds support for devices that use larger page sizes – up to 16 KB, up from 4 KB. Devices with larger page sizes will have improved performance and memory usage.
- Now you can pin the taskbar to the screen and the ability to use pairs of applications. Google hasn't provided much information about these features, but they will be available after the update.
- Another change allows the system to treat the user the way he wants. This means choosing the languages and gender that will be used in Android. There can be more than one language.
- Improved access to featured photos: apps will now be able to access limited media.
- Smooth entry into picture-in-picture (PiP) mode – smoother transition animation, without flickering.
- Enhanced vibration effects for notification channels – will allow you to better distinguish between types of notifications without looking at your smartphone.
- Changes in application access to services, improved AV1 support and interface improvements.
A new feature in Android 15 is Theft Detection Lock. Although it's not in this beta, the feature will arrive later this year. It uses an accelerometer and artificial intelligence to detect theft when someone snatches the phone from their hand and tries to run away. Any corresponding movement will automatically lock the phone.

In addition to Pixel, some smartphones from Honor, iQOO, Lenovo, Nothing, OnePlus, OPPO, Realme, Sharp, Tecno, Vivo and Xiaomi will receive the update.
