Steel body, all-wheel drive, electric and hybrid power plants
Ineos Automotive presented its third car — it's an all-electric SUV called the Fusilier (fusiliers were infantry soldiers in the 17th century French army). Like the brand's first model, the Grenadier, the Fusilier has a retro design, but this time the SUV is very similar to the Mercedes-Benz G-Class.
According to the creators, Fusilier will provide «world-class off-road capabilities without compromise on asphalt». The SUV will have a steel body with a steel bottom, but the doors will be aluminum. The car will be offered both in a purely electric version and in a rechargeable hybrid version with a «stroke extender» in the form of a gasoline internal combustion engine.
Ineos said it developed the Fusilier with input from Magna. The SUV will be produced at the Magna plant in Graz (Austria), which also produces the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, BMW Z4, Toyota Supra and Fisker Ocean.
