But first you need to assess the economic feasibility of replacing the Russian-French engine with a domestic PD-8
As we already wrote, the head of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) Yuri Slyusar said that the first flight of the SJ-100 aircraft with the domestic PD-8 engine will take place in early 2024. But in addition to this, the idea of remotorizing the already flying SSJ-100 with Russian engines is being discussed, although it is necessary to calculate the economic feasibility, Slyusar said. According to him, first of all, serial production of PD-8 for new aircraft will be established.
Remotorization is being discussed. There are two nuances here that need to be kept in mind. Firstly, this is the production capacity of fellow engine builders, because first of all it is necessary to develop serial production of PD-8 for new cars, and the volume of 20-30 cars per year is serious. Second — This is economics: about 200 SJ-100 aircraft have been produced, of which 160 are in active service. It is necessary to economically calculate how feasible it is to replace the Russian-French engine with the PD-8.
Yuri Slyusar
According to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, next year it is planned to assemble about twenty SJ-100 aircraft.
