TsAGI specialists blew the SJ-100 model in different modes simulating takeoff and landing in a wind tunnel
While the domestic airliner with the Russian PD-8 engine is preparing to take to the skies, work with the model of the airliner continues at the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after Professor N. E. Zhukovsky (TsAGI). Reportedly, experts studied the behavior of the SJ-100 with PD-8 engines in takeoff and landing modes.
«In the wind tunnel, the characteristics of unsteady flow in the wing wake in the landing configuration of the aircraft were studied, when the mechanization elements, brake flaps and spoiler sections were deflected in the presence of the landing gear. These parameters formed the basis for recommendations on the optimal deflection angles of the brake flaps to reduce the intensity of the wake vortex from the wing in landing mode », — TsAGI told.
Recall that the first flight of the SJ-100 with the PD-8 was planned for 2023, but literally at the end of last year it was postponed to the beginning of 2024. This year, the SJ-100 with PD-8 must be certified, and UAC must transfer it to the airline Aeroflot by the end of the year. first 20 aircraft.
