Unlike GM, Cadillac is not going to give up its muscle cars
Cadillac introduced the CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing sedans for the 2025 model year in the United States. The cars were slightly transformed in appearance and received improved equipment.
Due to the new front end, the Cadillac CT5-V appears lower and wider. It received a new bumper with glossy black inserts and an updated grille. There are also door sills painted in gloss black and the same rear spoiler. Among other features – 19″ wheels available in new colours.
New thing in the interior – A 33-inch curved screen that combines both a digital instrument panel and an infotainment system. The latter integrates Google services: there is Google Assistant, Google Maps and even access to the Google Play application store. Of the other options mentioned now, – AKG audio system and front seats with ventilation, heating and massage.
Interestingly, the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system is standard equipment. And now it has new capabilities: Super Cruise recognizes road signs and can apply emergency braking at an intersection. And this is not all of its capabilities.
CT5-V Blackwing has an aggressive appearance than CT5-V. This version can be distinguished by an additional air intake in the front bumper. The car received 19-inch forged wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Carbon fiber styling packages will be available for the CT5-V Blackwing.
The interior of the Blackwing is almost the same as that of the CT5-V, the differences – in the little things. For example, the Blackwing has a special steering wheel with a red serif and additional switches. The 33-inch screen can display power, boost and torque data, which will be updated in real time. Moreover, the screen can display real-time power and torque graphs with interactive analysis, as well as g-force, tire temperature and engine parameters. And the driver can configure all this data himself.
Cadillac CT5-V is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine with a power of 360 hp, it is combined with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Even the basic version can have all-wheel drive (with a limited-slip differential, all-wheel drive mode switch and traction vector control system).
Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing – more powerful. There's a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 668 hp. An alternative to the 10-speed «automatic» This engine is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission. The Blackwing is rear-wheel drive only and features Brembo brakes on all four corners: six-piston calipers front, rear — four-piston.
The 2025 Cadillac CT5-V and 2025 CT5-V Blackwing will make their public debut at the 24 Hours of Daytona, with the CT5-V Blackwing serving as the official safety car. Production of new products will begin in the summer.
