Starting next week, the plant will be idle for two months, and workers will quit
This afternoon the official premiere of the Russian auto brand XCITE took place, under which cars are produced at the former Nissan plant in St. Petersburg. And now the telegram channel has published details about the project: alas, not everything is positive.
Initially, the cars were planned to be assembled under the Lada brand, but after the introduction of American sanctions against AvtoVAZ, the Volzhsky plant distanced itself from the project, the plant was renamed (it was called «Lada St. Petersburg») and a new brand of its own was invented enterprises — XCITE. And although a certain number of cars were released with Lada nameplates (example — in the photo), they will all go on sale as XCITE.
Currently, 3,700 XCITE X-Cross 7 crossovers have been assembled, the cars will enter the market in April of this year. But… «what will happen next — no one knows»: from next week LLC «Avtozavod St. Petersburg» will go into downtime for two months, and the «torn» The workers are tired of the rhythm of work and low salaries — many quit.
