Versions with gasoline engines came out a few months after the premiere of the electric car
BMW introduced the new Mini Cooper with traditional engines in the USA. The cars will be offered both in a regular version and in a «heated» – Cooper S. Interestingly, the power of only the top version is revealed – it is 201 hp
This power is removed from a volume of 2.0 liters. The base Cooper will also have a 2.0-liter engine, but with clearly less power. For comparison, in the USA and Australia the base Mini Cooper has a three-cylinder 156-horsepower engine under the hood. Since the Mini Cooper engine for the US market is larger, one can think that the power will be higher 156 hp
The updated Mini Cooper for the USA received «powerful brakes» (what exactly is powerful in them – is not reported) and did not receive a manual transmission.
The car received improved driver assistance systems (including adaptive cruise control), which rely on one millimeter-wave radar and 12 ultrasonic sensors. There is also a navigation system with 3D visualization and image display on a large round OLED screen, a panoramic roof, wireless charging for a smartphone, a head-up display.
The price of Cooper S in the USA starts at 32 thousand dollars, production of this car will begin in March of this year. The regular Mini Cooper will begin to be assembled later, in July, the price – from 28 950 dollars.
