Russian premium Aurus cars can enter the Chinese market, as announced by First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.
«They may appear. But taking into account the fact that the automobile market in China — This is 30 million; a single number of luxury cars will not significantly change the market situation. And in order to sell products in China, you need to start with the service infrastructure. But today we have focused primarily on internal tasks of localization and updating versions; there is plenty of work to do. But we do not exclude from our plans», — said Denis Manturov.
He added that today China is actively rejecting Western cars. If previously the Russian delegation in China was greeted in foreign cars, today it is exclusively in Chinese cars. These are cars of «decent quality, but more modest than the Russian Aurus».
At the beginning of May, Aurus presented a restyled version of the Aurus Senat sedan and limousine. As already reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Beijing on a state visit. Aurus vehicles were added to serve the head of the country on separate sides.
This year, at the former Toyota plant in St. Petersburg, production of a new line of Aurus business class cars will begin with foreign partners.
