Xiaomi works together with Arm

The Xiaomi company is working together with Arm on a certain single-chip system for smartphones.

The CEO of MediaTek spoke about this, and this information can also be found in one of the Couterpoint reports.

A couple of years ago it was already reported that Oppo was working with Arm on its own SoC, but then the company canceled the project, since at that time there was a decline in the market. Now Oppo's place has been taken by Xiaomi.

Unfortunately, there are no technical details. Probably, we are talking about a semi-custom solution, that is, the Xiaomi platform will include regular Cortex cores and Mali GPUs, but configured in the form the company needs.

Recall that Xiaomi once already had its own SoC — Surge S1. But in the end, only the Mi 5C model was released based on it.
