Phil Spencer was asked about the new hardware in an interview with The Verge. Tom Warren mentioned the high-profile leak during his legal battle with the FTC.
The head of Microsoft Gaming did not deny that the new device will hit the market at the end of 2024. But he somewhat scoffed at leaks that could reveal the company's future activities.
Spencer emphasized that the company is focused on the unique capabilities of the new devices and is working on it. But don't expect Microsoft's handheld console to be announced just yet.
Warren: Moving on to the hardware side of the equation, you mentioned that new console and controller options. These are updated models that we saw in the FTC documents?
Spencer: I don't know about any leaks. I don't know what you're talking about. [Laughs]
Well, you said these were old plans , so what's going on there? You're teasing something?
< em>We'll talk about what awaits us. I will say that I am very proud of the work that the hardware team is doing, not only this year, but in the future. We really think about creating hardware that sells because of its unique features. This is a kind of revelation of the creative capabilities of our development team, which makes me very happy.
We're talking about portable devices? You constantly like tweets about portable devices.
I'm a big fan of portable devices. I'm a big fan, but I don't have anything to announce yet.
