Volvo is one of the first automakers in the world to announce that it will go all-electric in 2030. Back in 2021, Volvo CTO Henrik Green said: «There is no long-term future for fuel-powered cars».
Volvo Cars CEO Jim Rowan told Automotive News that consumers enjoy driving electric vehicles and charging at home is a big benefit for them. He believes Volvo is «on the right track» and is on the way to achieving his goal — full electrification by 2030.
By 2025, Volvo plans to sell 1.2 million cars, half of which will be exclusively electric vehicles.
