The telecom operator Vodafone applied to the NCRSI for permission to use the resource numbering of the mobile network code on the territory of Ukraine.
In its statement, Vodafone indicated that it currently uses network codes 50, 66, 95 and 99. Each of the codes has a capacity of 10 million numbers. Currently, more than 80% of the numbering resource has already been used for the first three of these codes. For code 99 this figure is more than 77%. Consequently, the operator has a need for additional numbering resources to ensure “consistency of network functioning.”
It seems that after considering Vodafone’s application, the National Commission intends to provide the operator with a new destination network code 75. This is evidenced by the draft resolution of the NCRSI. The corresponding meeting is expected on March 6. So, now the operator will be able to offer +380 75*** numbers to its subscribers. The network capacity for this code is 10 million numbers.
