During the Action Forum 2024, Vodafone and Nokia demonstrated communication capabilities 5G in Ukraine. It is noted that as part of the event, for the first time in Ukraine, a 5G teleconference between Ukraine and Finland took place. Three European cities were united with new high-speed communications: Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv and Helsinki.
Forum participants heard a speech by Mikhail Fedrov, Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology — Minister of Digital Transformation. Helsinki, where the 5G network has been operating since 2019, also got in touch. The forum participants were welcomed by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Development of Finland, Ville Tavio, who recently visited Ukraine. During the visit, the parties discussed, in particular, investments in modern technologies. In addition, the President of Nokia Mobile Networks — Tommy Vitto.
In Ivano-Frankovsk, Olga Ustinova, CEO of Vodafone, and Yuri Filyuk, CEO and initiator of the Prompribor innovation center, took part in the teleconference. Stanislav Pribytko, head of mobile Internet development at the Ministry of Digital Development, and Olga Deinega, GR director of Vodafone, were at the Vodafone Kiev office.
The connection took place using test internal 5G solutions that Vodafone and Nokia built in Ivano-Frankovsk on the territory of the Prompribor innovation center, and in Kyiv — at the Vodafone office.
These are the first sites in Ukraine where 5G has become available not only with the help of special demonstration equipment. 5G communication worked on regular smartphones and tablets that supported the corresponding communication standard.

In addition, the forum participants witnessed a technological and artistic performance — synchronized performance of two musical groups that were 600 km from each other. The Eclectic Sound Orchestra played on the roof of the Vodafone office in Kyiv, and the female vocal group Spivochi — on the stage of Prompribor in Ivano-Frankivsk. With the help of 5G, we were able to transmit the best quality sound and images without delay — so that the musicians can play in sync.
