TV7-117ST-01 spent 120 hours in the air as part of the Il-76LL flying laboratory
The United Aircraft Corporation (part of «Rostec») told how the TV7-117ST-01 engine was tested for the future Russian regional passenger aircraft Il-114-300.
It turned out that TV7-117ST-01 flew as part of the Il-76LL flying laboratory for four years, during which time it spent 120 hours in the air. The engine was also tested for two years in a thermal pressure chamber, where conditions were created that were as close as possible to flight conditions. In general, the range of tests carried out is much wider: it includes bench tests, special tests, and tests of individual components and parts (and TV7-117ST-01 consists of approximately 8 thousand parts).
Recall that flight tests of the Il-114-300 resumed at the end of March this year: the second prototype of the airliner spent about 40 minutes in the sky.
