This is the company's fastest SSD
Gigabyte presented its fastest SSD. The Aorus Gen5 14000 model with PCIe 5.0 support offers read speeds up to 14.5 GB/s.
For comparison, the Aorus Gen5 12000 supports speeds of up to 12.4 GB/s, and the Aorus Gen5 10000 supports speeds of up to 10 GB/s. That is, the company has increased performance within one generation of PCIe by almost one and a half times. As for the comparison with PCIe 4.0, Gogabyte talks about a twofold increase.
The new SSD is available in 1, 2 or 4 TB versions, and the maximum speed is stated for the second. The younger version has a speed of 13.6 GB/s, and the 4 TB version has a speed of 14.1 GB/s. Write speeds in order of precedence are 10.2, 12.7 and 12.6 GB/s
The drive is based on 232-layer 3V NAND TLC memory and a Phison PS5026-E26 controller. There are no pricing details yet, but the Aorus Gen5 12000 starts at $155 for 1TB.
