This is due to data security

Tinkoff Bank has banned employees from working remotely outside of Russia, Belarus, Armenia and Kazakhstan, as reported by TASS with reference to RBC.

“Working abroad outside the countries where development centers are present is prohibited,” said a Tinkoff Bank representative. Such centers are located only in Belarus, Armenia and Kazakhstan.

The bank stated the reasons for this decision. The first is that the bank is a systemically important organization and a subject of critical information infrastructure, which is subject to the requirements of the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control. The second is data security.

“In conditions of a high risk of attacks on the IT infrastructure, we must be as responsible as possible and prevent any leaks of sensitive information, especially abroad,” said a representative of Tinkoff Bank. He added that an employee who travels to a country where there are no Tinkoff development centers should have critical access disabled.
