Inexpensive Ladas will stop rising in price under one condition. AvtoVAZ will be able to keep them if inflation begins to decline in Russia

But for now prices have to be raised

AvtoVAZ will be able not to raise prices for the most affordable versions of LADA cars if inflation decreases, as stated on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) by company president Maxim Sokolov.

«We hope that the measures taken by the government and the Central Bank will be aimed at reducing inflation. And if it really goes down, there may be no need to index prices for the most budget versions in the next periods», — said Maxim Sokolov.

In May, AvtoVAZ indexed prices for some Lada models by an average of less than 3%. They did not change for budget models Granta and Vesta.

Today AvtoVAZ raised prices for the Lada Granta, equipped with a Jatco four-speed automatic transmission.
