Changan Raeton Plus, Oshan X5 Plus and Changan UNI-Z.
Quite quickly Telegram channel «Autostream» found out the names of the Chinese models that served as the basis for the new Volga cars.
Recall that today the Volga C40 D-class sedan, the Volga K30 C-class crossover and the Volga K40 D-class crossover were announced. In China they are produced under the names Changan Raeton Plus, Oshan X5 Plus and Changan UNI-Z.
«Chinese cars» noted that this time Russian developers did not just re-glue the nameplates, but modified the radiator grilles:
Well, like real ones. Based on Chinese Changan cars. We saw in the new products the features of an already "glowing" in Nizhny the Raeton Plus sedan, Oshan X5 and Uni-Z crossovers… Well done at GAZ, they made a lot of work on the front ends – this is not gluing nameplates on you.
We remind you that the assembly of cars will begin this year.
So, the Volga C40 – a class D sedan – as expected back in February, was created on the basis of the Changan Raeton Plus. The Volga K30 class C crossover has become the Oshan X5 Plus (a model of the Changan sub-brand). And the Volga K40 – a class D crossover – is in fact Changan Uni-Z.

«Autostream» adds that all new Volgas received original bumpers and a chrome-plated radiator grille with vertical teeth: “Apparently, the production of these parts will be immediately localized in Russia.”
