Great Wall promises not to sacrifice quality for the sake of price
Gu Yukun, deputy general director of the Tank brand, published a note on the Weibo social network in which he touched on a number of problems that the company has to face when launching the Tank 300 Hi4-T hybrid SUV. He accompanied his words with a large number of images of the car.
Gu Yukun already now, before the publication of official prices, suggests that the SUV will be a hit in China. But component suppliers and production facilities are not yet ready for large-scale mass production. «300Hi4-T also faces enormous cost pressure during research, development and production», — added the top manager.
However, at the conclusion of his message, Gu Yukun said: «we always put the needs and expectations of our users first and do not want to sacrifice quality and production volume due to growing costs». What does this mean? The Chinese resource Autohome believes there is a likelihood of a change in the price of the car. Prices have not been officially announced, but presumably they will ask for $30.5 thousand for the car. But based on what Gu Yukun said, it can be assumed that the SUV will still be cheaper than 30 thousand dollars. In any case, details and clarifications are promised tomorrow.
Tank 300 Hi4-T will receive a power plant with a 2-liter turbo engine, an electric motor and a 9-speed automatic transmission. According to rumors, the system will be borrowed from the Tank 400 Hi4-T.
